Quick Recall, featuring 2 halves of tossup and bonus questions, is used primarily for traditional academic competition in Kentucky. The Office of Academic Competition does not give this money to the schools. Hosting is the largest expenditure, but that only gets assigned to a given school every three to four years. They are motivated by the chance to provide the next generation of students with more and better opportunities for competition than they themselves had.
